The Whitechapel Centre (TWC) s a former Victorian school in the heart of Whitechapel that has been a hub for community activities for many years. TWC works both as an enterprise hub for SME’s and social enterprises as well as a hub for third sector organisations. TWC has proven the benefits of business and community led organisations delivering services from one service point.

TWC has community relevance and use on a number of levels; many of the start up businesses are owned and run by people that live in the immediate neighbourhood, impacting on the local economy as well as providing community based and charitable services for local people. TWC continues to build strong and useful links with the immediate neighbourhood that provides mutual benefits.

TWC is a community driven organisation, run as a Community Interest Company (CIC), designed as a social enterprise that uses its profits and assets for the public good. This is important in terms of real capacity building and financial relevance.
